With 30 years in the Pilates industry, Janette Jones brings extensive experience as a Pilates teacher, studio owner, movement educator, and advocate for the Pilates profession.

Janette began teaching Pilates in 1996 and went on to own and operate Marin Pilates Studios in Marin County, California for 25 years, developing and leading group reformer and apparatus-based studios. She is also a featured expert in the original Balanced Body Allegro Club, dating back to its introduction to the fitness industry in 1999.

Today, as Operations Manager at Spring Pilates EDH in El Dorado Hills, California, Janette continues to teach, mentor, and support the growth of the Pilates community. Her teaching combines the foundations of traditional Pilates with contemporary movement education, informed by comprehensive training through Polestar Education and Pilates & Beyond, as well as decades of hands-on teaching and individualized movement coaching.

Body Structuring: A Signature Approach

Janette is also a structural body-worker and has developed her own approach, Body Structuring, which integrates hands-on stretching, body awareness, alignment, strengthening, and Pilates-based movement. Her work is grounded in the belief that every body is unique and that effective teaching begins with learning to observe, understand, and adapt to the individual.

Mentoring the Next Generation of Pilates Teachers

As a longtime teacher and teacher advocate, Janette is passionate about helping Pilates professionals develop the skills, confidence, and perspective needed to build sustainable teaching careers.

Through her Pilates Teacher Professional Development Course, Janette shares nearly three decades of real-world experience—bridging Pilates teaching, movement observation, client relationships, studio operations, and the business realities of working as a professional teacher.

Her goal is simple: to help Pilates teachers become more skilled, confident, adaptable, and valuable to the clients and communities they serve.

Janette believes the future of Pilates depends on well-trained teachers who understand not only how to teach the work, but how to truly see the person in front of them.
